As a provider of cutting, coring, and sawing services, Straight Line Cutting usually works as a part of a team, making our contribution to the overall success of a project. We work side by side with electricians, plumbers, HVAC contractors, and project managers. Since we work so often with those who have different areas of expertise, it is often helpful to explain the range of services that we can provide and the concrete cutting and coring equipment we utilize to provide them. Keep reading for some specific information about what we can do and how we do it.
Slab Sawing
Cutting through concrete takes power and we have it! We are able to cut 15 inches deep into concrete slabs or even asphalt roads. When the situation demands it, we can cut between 1,500 and 2,000 feet in a single day! For inside work, we use a Diesel-powered saw with a Tier 4 emissions rating. This ensures that no harmful fumes will be generated with our work. In fact, we have used it in a small, closed room without any problems. We are experienced with slab sawing, know how to do it safely, and have the right equipment for the job.
Hand Sawing
Having the right equipment is important when hand sawing is needed. We use 480V hand saws, which are capable of cutting any size openings through walls as thick as 16 inches without the need for overcutting. Having this capability contributes to the structural integrity of buildings by minimizing the formation of cracks. These hand saws allow us to work faster and are also better for the environment since hydraulic fluid spills and fumes are eliminated.
Wall Sawing
We can work more efficiently and deliver a better product by taking advantage of the latest technology. Using the best wall saw available, we can cut through 24-inch concrete walls. Its 28-horsepower enables us to work faster. In fact, we can cut 150 feet of 10-inch thick concrete walls in just 8 hours. We can also use its chainsaw adapter to produce chamfered edges to match existing openings without overcutting corners. All this without hydraulics – just 480V electric power!
Core Drilling
Coring or drilling work also requires the right specialized equipment to do the job correctly. We have the ability to core 1-inch to 34-inch diameter holes with specialized half and quarter diameters ranging from 0.5 to 8.5 inches. Barrel specialty lengths up to 26 inches allow for continuous drilling, and extensions up to 10 feet can be added if necessary. Equipped for any drilling need, we have a range of core drilling equipment, including 480V drills, 110V drills, and hand-held drills for tight areas. We even have specialty mag-drills for upside-down drilling through steel pan decks as well as smaller drills for walls in those hard-to-reach places!
The Right Concrete Cutting and Coring Equipment
The right tools make all the difference when you have the unyielding obstacle of concrete, stone, or asphalt to cut, saw, or drill through. But that’s not all you need. We have those necessary tools, but we also have the know-how to use them correctly and productively and the character to ensure that things are done right. For example, we do all our cutting wet to keep our diamond blades and bits cooled. This is better for the environment and protects workers from harmful dust inhalation. When there is danger of hitting tension cables or rebars, we have the capability to bring in a GPR scanner to help us avoid any problems. Finally, we will not quit a job until we are finished with the clean-up too. We have the capability to remove concrete and asphalt either by hand or by machine depending on the situation. Our coring jobs include removal of all cores, and our cutting jobs include clean-up of slurry, both at no extra cost! From start to finish, it is our goal to make your life easier by providing cutting and coring services with efficiency, precision, and reliability.
